Shipwreck on the Neches
This event created major International Publicity for the museum that is still ongoing a year later. We coordinated very closely with Dr. Amy Borgen, Marine Archealogist for the Texas Historic Commission over several months, ending with her visit to the museum to lecture on these shipwrecks. Among the publicity we received was articles in every major newpaper in the US (Except the New York Times) and on all of the Networks on Television. International Coverage included an interview with the Associated Press that was broadcast in Berlin, Germany and newspapers around the world.
This video was presented to the Texas Association of Museums in 2024. We received the Gold Award Tammie for best social media campaign. This was the only gold award given in the state. If desired, more detail on this archeological find and documentation is here.
